Enhancing the lives of local residents with GO Community

GO Vehicle Services and GO Mobility work hard to be an active and engaged member of our local communities, and to have a positive impact in our local area. Through our GO Community work, we partner with selected local charities and local groups to help enhance the lives of local residents, through the provision of free or subsidised accessible transport.

The aim of our GO community projects is to identify charities, schemes and organisations that help enhance the lives of local residents, but where accessing transport can often be a significant and unfunded barrier to a service user accessing such invaluable services.

In our own small way we want to reduce the negative impact a lack of transport can have on local residents, specifically those with additional needs, disabilities, vulnerabilities or isolation. Utilising downtime time with our fleet of vehicles and calling an our amazing staff, our aim is to partner with local charities and organisations to help enhance the lives of local residents by identifying where residents are missing out on accessing essential services and support groups and for GO to support these residents by providing either free or subsidised accessible transport.

A local project example:
Churchdown and Innsworth Chatty Cafe

We are delighted to be supporting a charitable organisation called ‘Chatty Cafe’ who assist dozens of local residents to access a friendly and supportive social and activities group each week in Innsworth and Churchdown.

For many, this is the only time they will see anyone during the week, and the Chatty Cafe may be their only company and their only social interaction.

GO are providing a free local transport service each week to ensure as many service users as possible can access this much needed support group.

Such voluntary groups offer invaluable support in our communities, and it is a privilege for us to be able to support them.

How could we help your local charity or organisation?

"Empowering and enabling local charities and groups by providing free or subsidised transport, ensuring no one misses out on essential services"

How could GO Mobility help your charity, organisation or local community group?

Heading 6

We want to help enhance the lives of local residents and help them access essential support services and community groups. Where local residents simply can not access such vital services due to a lack of transport, GO community may be able to help by providing free or subsidised accessible community transport.

Who can apply?

Whilst we don’t offer direct public taxi services, any local charity or local support group can nominate either themselves or a local resident who they know are currently missing out on an essential group or service, purely due to a lack of accessible transport.

We then partner with local charities and groups to help provide this essential missing transport

Is this service free?

We are a small family business, trying to help local residents. GO community is a community project provided free of charge by GO Mobility, a leading specialist transport business in Gloucestershire.

Having a positive impact on our local community is really important to our business, and all of our staff. In our own small way, using our spare time with our vehicles and calling an our amazing staff, our aim is to partner with local charities and organisations to help enhance the lives of local residents by identifying where residents are missing out on accessing essential services and support and for GO to support these residents by providing either free or subsidised accessible transport.

We can't unfortunately provide limitless free transport to all (as much as we'd wish) but we will try to sprinkle our modest resources as best we can to help as many targeted needs as possible. Where we are not able to provide free transport for groups or organisations, we may be able to offer subsidised and heavily discounted transport instead.

How to apply and nominate

Whilst we don’t offer direct public taxi services, any local charity or local support group can nominate either themselves or a local resident who they know are currently missing out on an essential group or service, purely due to a lack of accessible transport.
